The Civic Center campus on Manchester holds City Hall and the 74,500-square-foot Main Library, a four-story 1970s landmark linked by pedestrian bridges and bordered by the garden-like Grevillea Mall. City council meetings, festivals and the annual holiday events happen here.
The Main Library closed October 20, 2025 for a roughly $61 million renovation adding a makerspace, teen and children's areas and seismic upgrades, with reopening anticipated in 2028. Library services continue at the Crenshaw-Imperial and Morningside Park branches.
