KUKU is an order-at-the-window Persian cafe started by Reza, an Iranian immigrant and former tech entrepreneur, and his son Artin, who rebuilt his mother's recipes over long phone calls back to Iran.
The braised lamb shank with dill rice, the crispy saffron rice cake and the beef kabob lavash wrap are the standouts, with saffron rice pudding for dessert. It is fast, affordable and a smart stop before a show at the Forum or SoFi.
