SoFi Stadium Is Becoming an Olympic Swimming Venue

SoFi Stadium, Inglewood

For most of its life, SoFi Stadium has been associated with football and concerts.

In 2028, visitors will walk into it to watch Olympic swimming.

LA28 identifies SoFi Stadium—called “2028 Stadium” in Games materials—as the Olympic swimming venue in the Inglewood Zone. LA28 has described the conversion as creating the largest swimming venue in Olympic history.

The current competition schedule places swimming in the second half of the Games. Official LA28 material lists swimming sessions from July 22 through July 30, 2028, although the schedule remains subject to change.

That makes swimming visitors an especially interesting audience for Be Inglewood. Many will be attending multiple sessions over several days. They need breakfast, dinner, somewhere to go between sessions and reasons to understand the neighborhood beyond the temporary Olympic branding.

The first link should therefore be Where to Eat Near SoFi Stadium. By 2028, it should feature firsthand Be Inglewood reporting on Dulan’s, The Serving Spoon, Two Hommés, Banadir Somali, Little Belize, Coni’Seafood, local Mexican restaurants, barbecue, burgers and coffee. Current local reporting already shows how deep that field is.

THE POOL WILL BE TEMPORARY. INGLEWOOD ISN'T.

Take the city with you.

The second link should be the SoFi Stadium visitor guide, but with an important Olympic caveat. Ordinary NFL or concert parking rules should not be copied blindly into an LA28 article. Games transportation, security and access systems will be their own operation. Keep the evergreen city information and replace logistics with official LA28 guidance once released.

The third layer should be history. A visitor who sees a swimming pool inside one of the world’s newest stadiums is already looking at something unusual. Give that visitor a reason to understand the city around it through Inglewood Before SoFi.

That story can begin with Centinela Adobe in 1834, move through the city’s 1888 settlement and 1908 incorporation, pass the 1932 Olympic marathon route and arrive at the Forum, Hollywood Park, SoFi and LA28.

For families with multiple event days, Randy’s, Market Street and the city’s restaurants can become a simple off-session itinerary. Connect all of that through the main LA28 Inglewood hub.

The spectacle will be the pool inside the stadium.

The SEO opportunity is everything people need before they reach it and after they leave.
